Terms of Service

By accessing or using Medic Oath ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. We may update these terms — continued use constitutes acceptance.

Medic Oath is an open-access medical research platform that uses AI to generate therapeutic hypotheses for neglected diseases. It is a research tool, not a medical service. All content is for informational and educational purposes only.

• You must provide accurate information when registering
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
• One account per person — do not create multiple accounts
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

• AI features require your own Anthropic API key (Bring Your Own Key)
• Your key is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage
• You are responsible for your Anthropic account billing
• Medic Oath does not charge for AI features — costs are between you and Anthropic
• Do not share API keys between accounts

• Platform code: Licensed AGPL-3.0. Source code is public on GitHub.
• AI-generated hypotheses: Belong to humanity. They are published as open prior art via ProofChain. No one — including Medic Oath — can patent them.
• Your contributions: Research you submit remains yours, but by submitting you grant Medic Oath a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute it as part of the open research record.
• Patient stories: You retain ownership. You grant a non-exclusive license for display on the platform.

You agree NOT to:

• Use the platform to generate content that is harmful, illegal, or discriminatory
• Attempt to patent discoveries published through Medic Oath
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download platform data for commercial purposes
• Impersonate researchers, institutions, or medical professionals
• Submit fabricated research data or fraudulent patient stories
• Use the platform to practice medicine without appropriate qualifications
• Overload the platform with automated requests beyond reasonable use

• All research contributions must be honest and original
• AI-generated content must be clearly labelled as such
• Conflicts of interest must be disclosed
• Data fabrication or manipulation will result in permanent account termination

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Medic Oath is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI-generated content
• We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform
• We are not liable for any actions taken based on information found on this platform
• Total liability is limited to the amount you have paid to use the platform (which is £0)

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Medic Oath, its operator, and contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or violation of these terms.

The Medic Oath platform is open source under the AGPL-3.0 license. You may view, fork, and contribute to the source code on GitHub. Contributions are subject to the same license.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

You may delete your account at any time. We may terminate access for violation of these terms. Upon termination, your personal data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy. Research contributions remain in the open record.
